Welcome to the Nursery Page.
It was wonderful to welcome the children back at the beginning of September. We enjoyed hearing about their holidays and they seemed very happy to back at Nursery.
During the past few weeks we have welcomed lots of new children to our Nursery. With the help of our older children the new children are settling in really quickly and beginning to learn our rules and routines.
We have lots of fun at Nursery, learning through play.
We are very busy at Nursery, there is always so much to do to help us to learn in a variety of enjoyable ways. We use our previous experiences and imagination in our play.
We enjoy all the different areas of learning indoors and outdoors.
It has been a very busy half term but we have had lots of fun. In particular we have enjoyed our preparations for Christmas. We liked dressing up for our Christmas play.
We had a great day when we visited the farm and fed some of the animals.
We always enjoy it when Kimbles come to visit us.
In the New Year we welcomed some new children to our setting. They have all settled in really quickly with the help of the older children and we are all enjoying playing and learning together.
We enjoy mark making in a variety of ways.
We have changed our timetable so that we can spend more time in our outdoor learning environment.
We dressed up and acted out the story for the Chinese New Year, it was lots of fun.
On Shrove Tuesday we had pancakes at snack time and pancake races in the outdoor play area.
On World Book Day we had lots of fun dressing up as our favourite book character.
We enjoy using ICT to help us with our learning. We use the programmable toys such as the Bee Bots, sometimes individually or working in a small group.
We borrowed the chicks from Year 2 and enjoyed learning about them and we carefully stroked them. They felt very soft.
We decorated eggs for the Easter Egg Competition. The theme was 'In the garden' everyone tried so hard and it was very hard to choose a winner as there were so many brilliant ideas.
We had lots of fun when we invited our fathers, uncles, granddads in for 'Fathers Day'. We combined it with Den Day to raise money for the 'Save the Children Den Day Appeal'. I'm sure you will agree we made some lovely dens which we then enjoyed playing in.
A big thank you goes to Miss Johnson for organising another brilliant 'Sports Week'. We had a lot of fun doing the activities that she had organised. They included: Children's Zumba, Kimbles, Circusology and Dance Afternoon.
You had better watch out there are Teddies about!
We had a great day when our teddies came to Nursery. They joined in our learning and then had a picnic.
As the academic year comes to an end the staff in Nursery would like to wish you a very Happy Summer Holiday.
