The children worked so hard to make these throughout their DT lessons this term. They created their own unique chocolates by choosing the type of chocolate, flavour, filling and topping. They then chose the shape of their design and designed and made their own packaging. They then packaged their chocolate up into their box. They hard work has definitely paid off as their chocolates look wonderful. They are bringing them home on Friday to share them, I hope they are as delicious as they look!
Here are some example of the finished chocolates in their packaging.
On December 2nd, we visited Cadbury World as part of our Chocolate topic. The children had the most amazing time! The explored all about the production of chocolate, watched a film about how chocolate is made from bean to bar, wrote their name in chocolate, tempered chocolate and even got to eat some chocolate! They also had a fantastic time on the Cocoa Bean Ride and when they arrived back at school were very excited to find out that they each had 3 chocolate bars to take home and eat!
This term, we have been learning about addition and subtraction. The children used place value counters and bead strings in pairs to develop their understanding of adding tens and ones.
