Mrs Leigh, Mrs Morton and Mrs Harris.
Children have started to do Dough Disco where they squeeze, roll, pat, pinch and poke play dough to develop fine motor strength and skills. We do this to music and add a bit of dancing as we go!
The children enjoyed their first Squiggle Whilst you Wiggle session! This involves making large movements with hands, ribbons, crayons or feathers and progressing to smaller movements. We have started with up and down movements to music. We used the actions to put the letter 'l' and the number '1' on paper and white boards. These actions will also help us with the letters 'i', 't' and 'j' and the number '7'.
Our parents and grandparents joined us for a literacy morning when we were learning about Little Red Riding Hood. We had a lovely morning cutting, writing, speaking, listening, building, painting and playing.
This term we have focussed on the letters c, o, a, d and g. The formation of these letters also helps with the letter q and the numbers 0 and 9. The children have been learning to write numbers to 10.
The children have been learning to form the letters c, o, a, d, g and q. We start all of these letters with a curly c, along with the number 9.
The book club treated us to wonderful stories from far away lands. It's always a treat to have these amazing story tellers in school.
We came to school in our pyjamas for World Book Day. We were ready for our bed-time story and shared our favourite books with each other.
Look at the amazing bear caves that we made at home as part of our topic 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt.'
We brought in our teddy bears to show each other. They had a great time!
We worked and played hard to learn about length. Our Mums, Dads, Nans and Grandads helped us to order, label, describe, make patterns, build, draw and model tall and short objects and pictures.
We brought in our May poles which we had made at home. We did a fantastic parade around the playground. Don't they all look fabulous?
Wow! We had an amazing time learning about minibeasts. We got the chance to hold a tarantula, worm, locust, millipede or cockroach. Some of us were brave enough to stroke a snake. We were all very curious and excited to meet these creatures. The chameleon was Mrs Morton's favourite. What was your favourite?
