There were lots of visitors on the Literacy Open Morning!
Mrs Stothert is now teaching Busy Bees.

This week we have been learning the story Snow Friends. We have added lots of actions and can now retell the story really well. We've also mapped out the story and are now ready to rewrite it in our books.
Spring Term 2016.
We loved acting out the story and adding sound effects! Now we have all written the story and our work was brilliant.
On Friday 8th January Year 1 enjoyed a brilliant WOW day. We learned so much about the weather, the United Kingdom and how animals survive in cold areas of the World. The children worked really hard and we all had a great day.
On Friday 5th February we enjoyed a winter walk. We managed to find lots of evidence for which season it is despite the weather being very mild this year. A big thank you to all the people who came along to support us.
We visited the church to learn about baptism.
On Friday 18th March we all completed a mile for Sports Relief. We really enjoyed skipping, walking, balancing and even hop scotching around the play ground.
This week (w/b 21.03.16) we have been learning how to balance and ride on bikes. It's been great fun and the children have all worked really hard. Well done Busy Bees!
Summer Term 2016.
On Friday 15th April 2016, Year 1 had a WOW day to introduce our new topic, Animal Crackers. Each room had an animal theme and the children had a great day learning about birds, amphibians and big cats.
On Tuesday 19th April we had a maths morning. The children really enjoyed working with the adults who came. Thank you for your support.
On Friday 22nd April, we went for our Spring walk. It was great to compare it with our Autumn and Winter walks. We saw lots of evidence for Spring such as buds, blossom, flowers and new plants starting to grow. Thank you to the mums and dads who helped us.
On Thursday 12th May Year 1 visited Twycross Zoo. The weather was fantastic, the children all behaved beautifully and we had a brilliant day meeting all of the animals we've been learning about in Topic. A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who offered to help and to those who were able to come. We'll all remember this day for a very long time!
On Friday 17th June lots of our families came into school to celebrate Fathers' Day. Year 1 had a Lego morning and we all really enjoyed sharing lots of activities with the adults who were able to come.
On Thursday 7th July, we spent a fantastic afternoon doing Circusology. We tried juggling, plate spinning and even using the diablo. It was brilliant fun!
