Welcome to Terrific Tigers. Our teacher is Mrs Yates and our teaching assistant is Mrs Palmer. We're really looking forward to working hard and learning lots of new things in Year 2.
We had lots of fun in maths sorting 2D shapes in different ways, making sure we described them using the correct maths vocabulary!
On Tuesday 17th October, Year 2 had a spa day to celebrate everything the children have been learning about healthy lifestyles. The children were amazing and we had a really lovely, relaxing day.
We have been working hard in gymnastics to travel and balance in different ways.
How much maths can you do with a tube of Smarties? The answer is LOADS!!
In science, we sorted different materials thinking about their properties.
We learnt all about 3D shapes and investigated how to make them using our understanding of their properties - number and shape of faces, edges and vertices.
We have been learning how to tell the time to the hour, half past, quarter past and quarter to.
During Reading Week we had a visit from Primary books. We enjoyed playing the steel drums and we made a bookmark shaped like a whale!
This term we are learning how to write non chronological reports. We're beginning by writing reports about dragons and other mythical creatures. The children enjoyed inspecting a host of dragon evidence and then using drama to hotseat each other as Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon.
What a gorgeous day for a May Day procession! Some fabulous Maypoles and Thomas made a very smart May King!
We had a brilliant Father's Day open morning making these amazing football stadiums...
