Autumn term
We celebrated Christmas by taking part in lots of Christmas traditions. We watched a Pantomime of Peter Pan with the rest of Reception and Nursery. It was lots of fun!
When we were learning about 4-sided shapes, we really enjoyed exploring them using sticks. We started by copying the picture cards, then lots of us had a go at creating a 4-sided shape on our own! Some of us even used extra lollipop sticks so that triangles were included in our designs!
We love reading, and really enjoyed Reading Week! We read the book ‘One’ by Kathryn Otoshi, and looked at ways we can be kind to one another and stand up for other people. We also loved having our grown ups in school to read with us!
We love building with lots of different construction toys! It’s a great way for us to use our imagination and work as a team.
We have explored Autumn in lots of different ways. We have looked at different signs of Autumn, colours of Autumn, and different Autumnal food!
We have been learning to recognise numbers 1, 2 and 3 as a subitised amount. We have been finding different ways to represent each number, and counting the correct number of objects.
