Year 1 welcome meeting letter

History week

 

We have had a fantastic week learning all about coal mining!

We have learnt lots about why people dug for coal, where local coal mines were, and what a hard job it was for the miners.

We have dressed up as miners, had a mining workshop in the hall, crawled through a mine without any light and then with a head torch, and have made mine carts with our grown ups.

It has been a great week!
