Dinosaur Discovery!
The children in Reception were surprised to find that a dinosaur had visited our school during the Christmas holidays! We found a dinosaur egg in the Reception outdoor area and looked on the school cameras to find videos of the dinosaur exploring, eating and sleeping in all of the Reception classrooms.
The children quickly realised that the dinosaur had left the egg behind. We decided that we need to take care of it. The children used sticks, leaves and grass to make a nest to protect the dinosaur egg and keep it warm. We kept an eye on the egg and each day it began to crack more and more.
On Friday, when the children came back from lunch they noticed the egg had hatched! We were all very excited and looked on the school cameras. We found a clip of the egg hatching and the baby dinosaur leaving to find its mummy.
We thought you would like to see the video...
